Here at Anova, we pride ourselves on changing the way people cook. But the sad reality is that every day, millions of families and individuals go without a meal at all. In fact, 37 million people face hunger in the U.S. — including 11 million children and nearly 5.4 million seniors.
As a smart kitchen company focused on food, we know we can do something to help. As a San Francisco based company, we know we must do more to support our local community. That is why this holiday season, we are teaming up with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank to cook up some change.
Food transforms lives
From December 3rd through December 25th, Anova will donate one meal for every sous vide cooker sold directly from our website to support children and families struggling with food insecurity. Food has the power to transform lives, and every meal donated makes it possible for kids to learn and grow, for adults to focus at work, and for seniors to lead happy, independent lives.Buy a cooker, give a meal
A resource for thousands.
Hunger is a serious problem in San Francisco and Marin, where 1 in 5 people struggle to find their next meal. Every week, over 141,000 people count on the SF-Marin Food Bank for fresh produce. This year alone, they will provide 48 million pounds of food.
The Food Bank also helps by:
Distributing food at over 275 local food pantries, where participants are given the independence to choose fresh produce in a farmers market style
Providing people with access to nutritional education and workshops through their Food Pharmacy program
Delivering groceries to the homes of seniors living with disabilities to support better health
Providing peace of mind for hundreds of thousands of residents in the San Francisco-Marin area
Calling all #anovagivingnerds!
Hunger knows no boundaries – it impacts every city in the US, targeting the most vulnerable people in our communities. Just one meal can make the difference between going to bed hungry or going to bed happy and healthy. Every dollar matters.
