Introducing Anova’s Refurbishment Program
This year, Anova introduced a refurbishment program in the US and Canada to extend the life cycle of our cookers, keeping them out of landfills and providing our customers with longer lasting, more sustainable devices.
The process of refurbishment means that products have been repaired or restored to like-new condition. Through our partner, CoreCentric Solutions, every Anova refurbished product completes a robust process that includes full testing. All parts are guaranteed to meet or exceed the quality of the original device and will be safely mailed to you in a 100% recyclable cardboard box and plastic insert.
Although the refurbishment program currently only includes older Anova Precision® Cooker Bluetooth and Anova Precision® Cooker Bluetooth+WI-FI models, the program will be extended to include all of our cookers later this year with plans to expand internationally in the future.
In 2020, Anova is projected to save over 7,100 pounds of material from going to landfill by ensuring parts such as electrical cords, stainless steel, mixed plastic and cardboard are recycled properly.
Manufacturing, packaging and transporting electronics is a very energy-intensive process. Each year, millions of home appliances, parts and consumer goods are disposed of in the United States. Sending waste to landfills is simply not resource efficient. Landfills produce a dangerous greenhouse gas called methane. They also pollute the air we breathe and contaminante the water we drink.
Introducing a refurbishment program helps us reduce our waste as a company. It reduces the demand for new parts, more raw materials and manufacturing – which create environmentally harmful by-products. By using a product that’s already in circulation, we can reduce the demand for non-biodegradable materials and reduce our contribution to greenhouse gases. It’s a necessary step in our journey to become a more sustainable company.
At Anova, putting customers first has always been our main priority. As long as you qualify and are within the 2 year warranty window, we will send you a refurbished unit should your device become damaged or inoperable. The refurbished unit will be covered for replacement up until 2 years from your original unit’s date of purchase.
