Dulce de Leche Banana Trifle

Updated
When people think of sous vide, they typically don't think of sweets. This is a great, and easy recipe for the next time you're entertaining. With minimal ingredients, you can create something truly beautiful and equally delicious. Since you can make the dulce de leche ahead of time, it's great for unexpected visitors as well. Ingredients:
  • 1 pre made angel food cake
  • 1 small tub of cool whip
  • 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 small pack of chopped pecans
  • 1 banana, sliced
Start off by setting your Anova to 185 degrees. While the water is heating up, empty two cans of sweetened condensed milk into a zip top bag. Use your favorite technique to remove as much air as possible from the bag, such as the water submersion technique. Once your water has hit 185 degrees, drop in your bag and cook for 10-14 hours, depending on the color of caramel you desire. For this recipe we set it for 12 hours. Once your dulce de leche is done, take it out and set it aside to cool. As it's cooling, this will give you a chance to slice up your banana and cube up your angel food cake. dulce1 Now the easy and fun part. Start to make layers in your selected bowl by first using the angel food cake, then banana, followed by dulce de leche, chopped pecans and cool whip. Make 2-3 layers, depending on how big your bowl is. Garnish with a little more cool whip, dulce de leche and pecans. dulce2
