Meet Anova Chef Nicole Poirier

Meet Anova Chef Nicole Poirier

Updated
We're excited to welcome Chef Nicole Poirier to the #anovafoodnerd fam to bring you food nerds lots more good stuff to cook up with Anova. As many of you food nerds may know, Anova started from a highly regarded scientific company known for providing high-quality lab equipment used for precision temperature control. We began nerding out in the kitchen with these devices when we discovered how easily we could create restaurant-quality results. So, we decided to bring our love of science to the kitchen. Cooking can be intimidating, especially if you don’t have years of experience. We wanted to use this technology to empower people with the ability to achieve professional-level cooking results with ease, no matter what their level of skill in the kitchen. Since we began Anova Culinary, we’ve worked hard to make cooking with the Precision Cooker approachable and accessible to everyone. With easy-to-use hardware and ever-improving software, we’ve been able to lend a helping hand in the kitchen and guide cooks of every skill level to cook with confidence. We have enjoyed creating our own recipes and hearing yours, and building our Anova food nerd family together. As the company moves forward, we’ve decided to take the next step - bringing in a full-time in-house chef devoted to creating recipes and publishing tips that bring all of our experiences to the next level accessibly; enter Chef Nicole. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0619/7487/2253/files/FullSizeRender-2.jpg Chef Nicole attended culinary school at Ecole Ritz-Escoffier at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, France. She began her culinary career in restaurants and upscale catering companies in Rhode Island before ultimately becoming an award-winning international yacht chef, literally cooking and eating her way around the world. Her journey into the world of sous vide began in 2009 with a stage at Voysey’s Restaurant on Kiawah Island, South Carolina under the tutelage of Chef Doug Blair, one of the premier followers of the locavore movement in the US and collaborator with Craft Restaurants Tom Colicchio. For the last six years, Chef Nicole has been a private chef, caterer, and cooking class teacher to all ages all over the San Francisco Bay Area. Her repertoire has naturally broadened as she quickly became known for her ability to accommodate multiple dietary restrictions and special diets simultaneously, across a variety of cuisines. She has a true passion for bringing people together over a delicious meal, and we can’t wait to see what she is going to be “bringing to the table” here at Anova! https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0619/7487/2253/files/FullSizeRender-1.jpg So, #anovafoodnerd fam, please join us in welcoming Chef Nicole to the food nerd family! Feel free to send over your cooking questions, recipe requests, or notes on your recent sous vide successes. Check out what she's got cooking on our recipes site. Chef Nicole has you covered and we can’t wait for you to nerd out with her.
