Given the high number of COVID-19 emails and blog posts you're seeing these days, we were reluctant to send our #foodnerds yet another COVID-19 related communication. However, we feel an obligation to do what we can to help. So, we’re writing to ask you to help an organization that Anova has been personally involved with over the past year – Meals on Wheels, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable among us, the elderly.
Meals on Wheels is working around the clock to ensure that the delivery of meals continues uninterrupted for thousands of seniors, no matter the circumstances. We know many of you are struggling right now, so we thank you in advance for your time and support of their important work. Anova will be donating 5% from every Precision Cooker purchased through the Anova Website to the Meals on Wheels COVID-19 Response Fund from March 22nd - April 5th. We encourage each of you to donate as well. Since its founding, Anova has been motivated by the idea that everyone can have a seat at the table. It's our most important core value. It's driven us to make pro-level cooking accessible and affordable, a goal we're still working towards. We also strive to be consistent with our values to our key stakeholders – #foodnerds, employees, partners, shareholders, and our broader community. We want people in our community to have a seat at the table. In our immediate community, San Francisco, there are obvious segments that don’t have a seat at the table. Since October, Anova has been proud to partner with Meals on Wheels San Francisco. Our employees have helped to deliver over 620 meals to seniors in our community. We’re now thrilled to be helping the broader organization – Meals on Wheels America, which supports more than 5,000 community-based programs across the country that are dedicated to helping the 9 million vulnerable seniors that face the threat of hunger. They are able to deliver nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks that help America’s seniors maintain their independence and dignity. Right now, the health and well-being of each Anova employee remains my top priority. We took immediate action in the beginning of March to protect team members in the San Francisco office by introducing a remote work policy. Since then, we have only grown stronger. I'm proud of the Anova team and will continue to put employees first. Thanks so much for your time and attention. Our community is amazing and we know that this crisis will bring out the best in you. We know you're probably getting bombarded by COVID-19 material right now, so I really appreciate your time. Thanks so much for your support. Stephen Svajian Co-Founder and CEO
