Worst design ever
"I initially wanted to, now discontinued sousvide container they sold made from insulated metal with a built in rack. I settled on this as i needed something large. Worst designed EVER. First off, the "rack", which is IMO one of the biggest benefits of this vs just buying a $3 tub at walmart - lighter foods won't float up above the water. First off the rack seems smart until you realise you have to drop the food in, into hot water (as you normally would do). Then there's the worst part of it: the rack itself is held on by little bits sticking out that slot into the tub. the problem is the bits are much too short, so invariably the slip and rack falls down. This is especially bad when the water is heated up and the tub bows outward a bit from the heat and the pressure of the water inside. Anova tried to fix this by fitting the rack with little rubber tips that extend the fit of the rack itself and make it less likely to slip, it helps a little bit but not fully. Except they don't tell you that and for all intents and purposes it looks like packing material that you are bound to throw away. No issues, my fault, kinda: i asked for a replacement, i even paid for a replacement rack - no response for a month. So, not only is it designed badly, with no thought for actually using it, including: how am i going to get food inside the tub under the rack once the water is hot. But also how the rack would stay in place even when the tub bows due to the heat and water, but the fixes are badly done and support is non existent. DO NOT BUY. You are far better off buying whatever cheap stuff you can get on amazon: i would sya it's less likely to be made of stronger plastic that is more safe under temperratures but the fact that the tub bows doesn't give me a lot of confidence."
