Very poor product and terrible customer service
"My heat sealer did not work properly from the beginning and Customer Service was awful. I round up paying $15 to ship back a product that did not work properly and then I paid another $10 for a box since I had assumed product would work and I discarded the outside box. No one ever got back to me even though I called I sent emails and it went through Shop who also offered no customer service."
Lasted for about 20 sealing days, then failed.
"Welcome to freezer burn. I used the Anova vacuum sealer with success for about 1 year. After that, and countless back and forth for warranty (or gaskets, repair, etc. ), I have given up. I do enjoy Anova products, which is why I went with this, but the seal didn't last, after doing all the troubleshooting. I'd avoid this one, fellow foodies."
Defective
"Upon arrival the unit did not work properly. Suction in the vacuum and seal mode was slow and weak and it did not evacuate all the air and stopped after a minute or so without sealing. I had to pay $14 to return the defective unit. I was notified that my return was received and the matter is closed. I'm not confident that a replacement is coming. I cannot recommend this product."

It sucks – but not air, unfortunately
"I upgraded to this from an old vacuum sealer. In the beginning, Anova Precision was unreliable, creating a vacuum only some of the times. I thought it was because I used my old bags – and bought new ones from Anova. Same problem. Then it got worse, removing the air less than half of the times, costing me a lot of bags. Suddenly I realised the real problem: there is a tiny gap in the seal on the machine when I've closed and locked the lid, even though the seal is new. My guess: because the plastic body is to weak and the tolerance in the fitting between part is too high. Meaning poor quality. If I apply high pressure on the lid, it works, but I definitely shouldn't have to do that. I read quite a few comments about others having the same problem, but according to the attitude from customer support they don't seem to care or pretend not to know about it. I still haven't gotten service or an exchange. It's a pity because otherwise the machine's capabilities seems ok. But I'll never buy anything from Anova again."
